Path: Main / Committees / Advisory Committee on Business Practices /

October 2, 2006

Dear President DeGioia:

I am pleased to forward for your approval a proposed amendment to the Georgetown University Just Employment policy.

The enclosed policy reflects the deliberations of the Advisory Committee on Business Practices that took place over the last several months, and was approved unanimously by that committee on September 28, 2006.

As you will see from the enclosed, the Advisory Committee on Business Practices opined that Georgetown’s policy with respect to card check and neutrality of its contractors was in general appropriate, provided however that University contractors do not introduce undue delays in resolving issues related to unionization. I have highlighted the proposed change by underlining it in the enclosed policy.

Sincerely,

Spiros Dimolitsas, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President
